Our tour designer has cycled the length and breadth of the Algarve to bring you the best routes: fun to cycle and with the most spectacular views! We currently offer guided and self guided tour holidays and guided day tours that can be adapted to suit your fitness level. We can also design bespoke tours for you!

Algarve Cycling Holidays

We have a number of Algarve cycling holidays to choose between including touring holidays and single base holidays. Tours are available for touring bikes, road bikes, mountain bikes and e-bikes and we can arrange bike hire if desired. All the cycling tours include everything you need: detailed route information and maps, quality bike and equipment hire, hotel bookings and airport transfers. There is also the option of luggage transfers (recommended!) and a tour guide if desired. Touring Bike Holidays

The Ecovia do litoral is a new dedicated Algarve cycling trail that links Sagres in the west of the Algarve to Vila Real de S. António on the Spanish border hugging the coast for much of the route. This route combines trails in nature protection areas with linking stretches on traffic calmed or car-free routes. With a total of 214 km, the Ecovia do Litoral takes if the full diversity and drama of the coast. There are two options for this ride. The first is a five night holiday with four fun but quite challenging days of cycling and the second a seven night option allows for a gentler pace with six relaxed cycling days and more time to explore towns and points of interest along the way. The five night holiday costs from €615 per person and the seven night holiday costs from €750 per person.



Our other trans-Algarve tour we have called the Best of the Algarve as it combines the best of the coastal way with the finest inland scenery and the chance to visit many appealing country towns and villages. It takes you right from the Spanish border to the wild west coast, up into the hills on Monchique and everywhere in between! This holiday provides up to 2 weeks of cycle touring including one rest day per week. The Best of the Algarve is designed to be a gentle and relaxing cycling holiday cycling mainly on quiet tarmac roads and occasionally on dirt tracks. There are options for daily route extensions if desired. Each evening you'll be staying in a good quality hotel in a different town with a choice of good restaurants to enjoy a well earned evening meal. This Algarve cycling holiday costs from €649 for 7 nights or €1125 per person for 13 nights.

We also have tours available for cyclists who want to see more of the Eastern Algarve or the Western Algarve.

If you prefer to a single centred holiday we have two options for you: the first is one centred cycling week with guided day rides and the second is a family friendly cycle and beach holiday where you stay on the coast and can cycle as much or as little as you want to.

The touring bike holidays are also available on electronic bikes a little helping hand so you can enjoy the freedom of cycling without wearing yourself out!

Road Bike Tours

The Coast and Hills holiday is a 7 night road bike tour designed for intermediate and advanced cyclists. It combines quality accommodation along the gorgeous Algarve coastline with daily rides into the hills. It's a great way to keep up your training and experience some of the best road biking that the Algarve has to offer. It will also appeal to non-cycling partners and we can arrange transfers and activities for them. This tour starts from €575.

The Tour of the Algarve is based on the annual Pro Volta do Algarve tour. Taking advantage of the fantastic network of quiet tarmac roads it takes you right across the Algarve from the Spanish border to Sagres on the west coast and then up into the hills of Monchique- that's a demanding day but well worth it! This is designed as a self guided tour for intermediate cyclists and can be adapted to suit your individual needs. This tour starts from €450.

Mountain Biking Tours of the Algarve

The Via Algarviana is challenging, self-guided mountain bike holiday spans the whole of the Via Algarviana, 300 kms of ancient tracks connecting the people of Southern Portugal to their land and settlements. The Via Algarviana, officially a hiking trail, links Alcoutim on the Spanish border with Cape St Vincent, the south western tip of Portugal. The route offers a variety of surfaces from tarmac to tricky rocky slopes, dirt track roads and single track sections. There are some serious climbs but these are rewarded with spectacular views and jaw dropping descents! The Via Algarviana mountain biking holiday is aimed at fit, competent mountain bikers. It is a one week tour and starts from €595 per person.

The Rota Vincentina is another challenge well worth taking on! The Rota Vicentina is a historical trail that winds its way up the west coast of the Algarve and the Alentejo- widely acknowledged as one of the most beautiful in Portugal. This trail covers 230km of amazing and contrasting scenery from traditional hamlets through undulating countryside and scented eucalyptus forests to stunning coastal landscapes. This tour is also designed for experienced mountain bikers and starts from €759 per person.

Mountain Biking Training Camp is a one centre, self guided camp for mountain bikers keen to improve their fitness and skills, whilst enjoying the excellent cycling conditions the Algarve has to offer. We will provide you with challenging routes and a choice of quality accommodation to suit you and will let you know if there are any local mountain biking events scheduled during your stay. The camps start from €365.

The mountain biking holiday prices do not include bike hire, as our experience is that keen and regular bikers will want to bring their own bikes with them for this type of holiday. However, hire of good quality mountain bikes can be arranged if required. Contact us for a mountain biking brochure.

Daily Algarve Cycling Tours

We offer day and half day Algarve cycle tours for both occasional cyclists who want a leisurely, reasonable flat ride and more demanding, longer tours for regular cyclists who are up for tackling a few hills. Depending upon your preferences, you could cover anything from 20-35km on a cycle tour (2-4 hours of cycling), you can go at your own pace and will have plenty of time to stop off along the way, take photos, enjoy some sightseeing or just refuel with a leisurely lunch. On the tours you'll be accompanied by an experienced guide who knows all the best back roads and tracks and points of interest.
