Discover the Western Algarve - from the mountains to the sea
The Monchique Bio Park and the Cape St. Vincent Natural Park
This 7 night holiday offers you the opportunity to explore the unspoilt beauty of the western Algarve beginning with a trip around the hills of the Serra de Monchique. From here you head downhill and along the Seixe valley to the village of Odeceixe. The village lies within the spectacular Cape St Vincent Natural Park and you will be cycling within the park for the remainder of your holiday. After a day's cycling around the nearby coast we transfer you south to ‘Lovers' Beach’ where you cycle the magnificent Pontal headland before travelling to Cape St Vincent (considered by the Romans to be the ‘end of the world’) and the historical port of Sagres. From here you'll cycle around the southern margins of the Park taking in unspoilt beaches and the ancient standing stones of Monte das Amantes before reaching your final destination the fishing village of Salema.
Central Algarve - In The Tracks Of The Moors
A taste of the traditional Algarve at its best.
This 7 night holiday begins in a pretty village where during the Moorish occupation the local people made their living from gathering shell fish from the nearby Alvor estuary. You have the chance to explore the estuary before heading eastwards, passing though a landscape that owes a great deal to the inventiveness of the Moors during their occupation. Your next stop is the town of Silves, the old Moorish capital of Portugal where their magnificent red sandstone castle has been restored and recent excavations have exposed other evidence of their advanced society such as the steam rooms and baths. From here you pass through Paderne with its castle remains (the oldest in the Algarve) and the town of Loulé which was occupied by the Romans and Moors before your journey ends in the picturesque village of Estoi just north of Faro. There is plenty to see in Estoi itself with winding cobbled streets, attractive old houses, an Italianate palace and Roman ruins.

The Douro Valley's Port Wine Route
This 7 night holiday begins with a wonderful boat trip up the Douro river from Porto with time to relax and enjoy the scenery before spending the next 6 days cycling back along quiet country roads. The distance each day is never more than 30km which means there is plenty of opportunity to visit some of the finest Quintas for wine tastings and to explore the towns and villages along the way. As you are cycling down the Douro there are far more downhill sections than ups so as long as you are reasonably fit you won't have any problems. Every night you'll stay at a small manor house or equivalent where you can tuck into a substantial dinner and breakfast! If at the end of the day you're still feeling energetic you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool.(Minimum of 4 people)
A Day's Cycling in the Algarve
Our down hill cycling trips make fabulous, easy days out. You'll be driven to the top of the highest peak in the Algarve, Foia at 902 metres, in the middle of the Serra de Monchique where you can enjoy stunning views to the west & south coast. From there it's downhill all the way through traditional mountain villages, fragrant eucalyptus forest and beautiful green valleys.
You cycle with an experienced multilingual guide who will stop at suitable viewing points and also tell you about the wildlife & nature of the region. A support vehicle follows the group (maximum 16 people). We use custom made aluminium ‘all terrain' bikes with safe hydraulic brakes, comfortable gel seats and front suspension and will provide you with a helmet and a water bottle.
