    The Azores Tours

Our bike, walking and jeep trails have been carefully designed and perfected by us to show you not only some of Pico’s most famous sites and beauty spots but also some of its best kept secrets. So that you can get to really explore and appreciate the island as we do.

    Bike Trails
azores cycling Our favourite bike trail runs for approximately 40 km (25 miles) from the foot of Mount Pico at an altitude of 1,200m, past the Frei Matias and Torres grottos, Mingato Aldeia and the World Patrimony site of Verdelho vineyards to Madalena at 3m in altitude. The trail follows old pathways bordered by an abundance of lush plants and flowers and winds its way along the beautiful coast line.
This trail is rated moderate to difficult and can be followed with or without a guide. You’ll find the views are well worth the ride. If you’d like to explore more areas by bike or cycle an easier trail we also have other stunning routes to choose from again with or without a guide.

    Walking Trails
We offer a variety of walking trails. Our most popular are 16km (10 miles) and 24km(15 miles) long respectively and take in the Torres grotto, Mingato Aldeia and the Verdelho vineyard area- a World Patrimony site. The trails meander along ancient pathways taking in the stunning landscape, unusual fauna and flora, traditional villages and dramatic coastline. The Azores are particularly famous for their abundant and interesting flowers, bird and animal life. You will be accompanied along the route by an experienced and knowledgeable local guide and will stop for a snack in an Adega (a traditional stone wine cellar/hut). One of these routes is rated easy the other moderate to difficult so there’s something to suit everyone. If you’re planning a walking holiday or would like to do a shorter walk please ask us about our other lovely routes.
