Our Algarve kitesurf lessons are suitable for everyone from complete beginners to intermediate kite surfers.

You will learn to kitesurf in the clean warm water estuary of Alvor, just a few minutes from the popular seaside town of Lagos. Separated by sand dunes from the Atlantic Ocean the estuary is one of the Algarve's top kitesurfing locations and each year professional kitesurfers come here to compete during their world tour.

As well as being a fantastic, safe place to learn, it is also a beautiful place to unwind. More experienced kitesurfers can also try their hand at surfing in the ocean waves.

Why learn to kitesurf in the Algarve?

The Algarve is a top holiday destination and is famous for its sunshine, lovely sandy beaches, great food, wine and hospitality- ideal whether you want to spend your summer surfing all day and partying all night or are looking for a chilled out break in the winter sun. In recent years the Algarve has become increasingly popular with watersports enthusiasts. The water quality is excellent with a sandy bottom and water temperatures are pleasant at around 17 to 20 degrees.

Fun and safety are the priorities for our kitesurfing courses and they are taught to IKO safety standards. A maximum of four students are taught on each course and we use only the latest equipment. A support boat is always there in case of emergency.

When is the best time to kite surf in the Algarve?

The north wind off the Monchique mountains known as the Nortada is the wind you need to kitesurf in the Algarve. Luckily it blows throughout the year picking up in the morning and often reaching 25 knots by early afternoon. So it is possible to kitesurf in the Algarve all year round. Having said that the very best months to kitesurf in the Algarve are from May to October with June to September offering ideal conditions.
