Come and be one of the first to discover stand up paddle in the Algarve! We love stand up paddle; it is fun, stress relieving, a sublime way to explore and see more of the country and a great way to get fit.
The Algarve is blessed with a wealth of waterways and coastal routes. You can choose between tranquil or challenging fresh water routes or the drama of the ocean with caves that are quite literally awe inspiring!
If you have never tried SUP before then we recommend starting with a lesson (€25). If you're already at home on a paddle board join us for a stand up paddle tour (€35). We also offer stand up paddle holidays. Thanks to our sunny, mild climate, it is possible to stand up paddle in the Algarve all year round. We use RED inflatable paddle boards which are very safe, comfortable and incredibly responsive. As you can roll them up and put them on your back it gives us the freedom to travel far and wide across the Algarve!

Stand Up Paddle Tours
The Algarve has stand up paddle routes to rival Europe's finest. Having paddled the length of the Algarve, here are our guides' top five! The routes have been chosen for both their outstanding natural beauty and their diversity so you could paddle every day of your holiday and always be seeing something completely new and different.
1. Funcho Dam
This dam near Silves is tricky to get to but well worth the trip! Once you’re out on the water it’s like no one else exists. The perfect place to get away from it all!
2. Arade River
The picturesque Rio Arade meanders through the western Algarve. Paddle the route that the Phoenicians, Romans and Moors took in days gone by as they sailed from Silves to the sea!
3. Algarve Coastline
The Algarve coastline is picture postcard perfect with some spectacular sea caves, cliffs and coves. SUP is one of the best ways to explore these amazing rock formations- it'll take your breath away!
4. Ria Formosa
Stretching all the way from Faro to Tavira, the Ria Formosa is a 60km long coastal lagoon that is an oasis for birds, fish and other marine life. It is dotted with inhabited and deserted islands and on a still morning you won’t believe how beautiful it is.
5. The River Guadiana
This eastern river once formed an essential transport link between the historic towns of the Alentejo and the Algarve coast, now it is a haven of tranquillity. Completely different again to the other four routes, you will paddle through landscapes at times of a stark, arid beauty, at other times soft and lush.
Let us show you these incredible locations via paddle board. We’ll organize everything, all you have to do is stand up, paddle and enjoy the scenery! €35pp, each tour lasts approximately 3 hours. Transfers available at a small extra charge.
Our guided stand up paddle holidays have been carefully designed to ensure you have the chance to experience all this region has to offer, from the dramatic coastal routes and the challenges of local rivers to the calm of the dams including a dawn paddle tour of the Algarve's most famous sea cave! Along the way, you can learn about the history and culture of the area, whilst at the same time improving your stand up paddle boarding skills and general fitness and just relaxing in nature.
