Madeira Dive Trips

The beautiful, sub tropical islands of Madeira are synonymous with quality diving, with early enthusiasts including renowned conservationist and marine explorer Jacques Cousteau who declared it one of the best diving spots in the world. Attractions include an abundance of marine life from dolphins, manta rays and monk seals (the rarest of the seals, they can grow up to 3 metres in size and 400kg!), through a wide variety of fish including groupers, bicudas, moray eels and barracudas to delicate black coral, arrowhead crabs and starfish- check out our video at the bottom of the page. The warmth of the gulf stream, that contributes to the richness of the marine environment, also allows diving all year round with mild water temperatures (from 16ºC in winter to 25ºC in summer).

Depending on your diving skills and experience and the sea conditions on the day there are a wide variety of Madeira dive sites to choose between and the guides will a memorable diving experience. Our Madeira diving centre is a SSI dive center and was the first tech diving centre in Madeira as well as the first GUE Support Center on the island. It has all the facilities you need including a salt water pool, rinse tanks, changing rooms with hot showers, classroom for theory lessons, dive shop, transportation, all the equipment you might need to hire and air, nitrox and trimix supplies. It is located in Machico, a quiet and attractive seaside town with restaurants, bars, shops and a black sand beach. The diving guides speak English and Portuguese and will ensure a warm welcome as well as specialist local knowledge.
